The beauty of this monument never ceases to amaze me. When I stand at its' feet looking up it gives me an eery feeling. I'm reminded of my smallness and insignificance in the world which I find strangely soothing.

Fabulous.
We hadn't got time to stop when we passed it last time.

I know what you mean; I felt the same way when I was surrounded by the beauty of British Columbia's coastal mountains. Great photo!

Trying to think of something that's had that effect on me. I have to follow Dar's lead and say the mountains. Only it was looking down at the tops of thunderstorms from elevation that I'll never forget.

Thanks for the visual treat!

Dar, now try looking at BC's mountains from the sea at dawn. Rolling waves of baby-blue syrup shimmering in orange light, with ragged purple mountain teeth on the horizon. A little movie I will carry in my mind for a lifetime.

Wow, that is something. It does elicit a certain feeling doesn't it. Spiritual and powerful.
